  • "The Husking Bee Trains" -- The story of these popular fall "hobby" trains, which operated between New York City and Kent, CT, from 1937 into the 1960s.   • "New Haven's Rebuilt Double-Sheathed Box Cars" -- Discusses the 1920s rebuilding of the New Haven's 22,000+ 30-ton, 36-foot box car fleet built 1903-1912. Most of the rebuilding occurred at the New Haven's two major shops in New Haven, CT, and Readville, MA, and at the Keith Car and Manufacturing Company in Sagamore, MA (brief mention). Volume 37 Issue 1
  • "Cab Rides on BX-18" -- Harry B. Chase recalls four cab rides he took on the Boston Division freight extra between Taunton, MA, and Otis Air Force Base on Cape Cod, performing local freight work in Wareham, including Marion Pit on the remains of the Fairhaven branch and at the Ocean Spray plant in Onset. 8 pages with photos, including color at Taunton, Marion Pit and North Falmouth.
