Football Trains

April 1st, 2003

The New Haven Railroad operated special Football Trains that took collegiate football fans to games played at various colleges in and around its service territory such as Boston College, Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Fordham, Harvard, New York University, Princeton, and Yale. Here are a selection of Football Train advertising folders dating from the mid to late 1930s and early 1940s. All items from the collection of Marc Frattasio.

Football Trains This Football Train folder is for a Yale vs. Harvard game that was played on November 24th, 1935 at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. The folder presents the schedules for a number of special trains to take spectators, mostly alumni and family members, to New Haven from Boston, Providence, New York, and Philadelphia and then return them home after the game.
