  • "Recollections of the Old Colony" -- Warren Smith shares his memories of the Old Colony, starting in the 1930s. 6 pages with photos.
Volume 6 Issue 4 (Fall) 1975
  • "Golden Anniversary of Electrification" -- Reprint of a May 1945 Along the Line article marking the fiftieth anniversary of the New Haven's first experimentation with electrified railroad service, developed on the Nantasket branch in the 1890s. 4 pages with photos, map and timetables.
Volume 9 Issue 4 (Fall) 1978
  • "New Haven's Connections - Fore River Railroad" -- The story of this 2.4 mile short line which connects the Quincy shipyard with the South Shore line. 3 pages with photos and map.

  • "The Electrification of the Nantasket Branch" -- The story of the New Haven's pioneering electrification of the Nantasket branch with overhead trolley wire, the Braintree - Cohasset section of the South Shore line with third rail. 14 pages with photos, maps and timetables.

  • "Trolley Stop: The New Haven's Electric Problems" -- Reprint of a January 15, 1904, 'Railroad Gazette' editorial, detailing the current state and problems with the New Haven's various electrified lines, including trolley lines, the Nantasket, MA, branch, the Providence, Warren & Bristol, Norwich - Central Village, CT, Burnside - Vernon - Rockville - Melrose, CT, Middletown - Berlin - Meriden, CT, and New York - Stamford - New Canaan. 3 pages with photos and map.

  • "On the New Haven...Today -- Old Colony Restoration" -- Discusses the recently-released 'Old Colony Feasibility Study', which lays the groundwork for restoration of commuter rail service to Greenbush, Plymouth/Kingston and Middleborough. 2 pages with tables and photos.

  • "Sears Roebuck Garage Shelters" -- Discusses the New Haven's innovation use of the garage kit as low cost shelters for passengers outside Boston during the early 1950s. 1/2 page with photo of the shelter at East Braintree on the Greenbush line.
