  • "Preservationist's Triumph" -- The Stoughton, MA, station is saved from the wrecker's ball. Includes a short history of the station, including the wreck of the Newport Express. 2 pages with photos.
Volume 22 Issue 2 1991
  • "The Wreck of the Newport Express" -- The story of the August 4, 1924, wreck of the Newport Express, which crashed into the Stoughton station. 3 pages with photos.
Volume 27 Issue 1 1996
  • "Old Colony Commuter Service -- The New Haven's Problem Child -- Part 1" -- The history of The New Haven's Old Colony commuter service between Boston and Greenbush, Plymouth, Middleboro, Cape Cod, Taunton, New Bedford and Fall River. This 3-part series includes over 100 historic photos from the South Shore and southeastern Massachusetts. Part 1 includes the story of the 88 station case, in which the New Haven proposed abandonment of 88 stations in eastern Massachusetts, including all passenger service below North Easton. 30 pages plus cover photos.

  • "Notes on Some Old Colony Railroad Stations" -- Fran Donovan shares some historical notes on many of the Old Colony's stations. 4 pages.

  • "The Day Taunton Station Came Down on C-700" -- The story of how the historic Taunton, MA, station and NE-6 caboose C-700 were both destroyed on July 7th, 1964.  7 pages with photos.
Volume 37 Issue 1
  • "Cab Rides on BX-18" -- Harry B. Chase recalls four cab rides he took on the Boston Division freight extra between Taunton, MA, and Otis Air Force Base on Cape Cod, performing local freight work in Wareham, including Marion Pit on the remains of the Fairhaven branch and at the Ocean Spray plant in Onset. 8 pages with photos, including color at Taunton, Marion Pit and North Falmouth.
