We are pleased to announce the following changes in the NHRHTA operations area. These new appointments are consistent with our ongoing desire to support the NHRHTA charter and improve our support to the membership.
As many of you are aware, the VP of Operations position has been vacant for some time now. Given Wayne Drummond’s recent focus on Shoreliner® production, he has solicited the support of Dr. Steve Boccuzzi, our current Director of Public Affairs to step up and fill this position. Mr. Drummond will be delegating the day-to-day coordination of NHRHTA operational activities to Steve, which will allow him to work more with Charlie Dunn on the production of our flagship publication. Mr. Boccuzzi was also elected to our Board of Directors at our last BOD meeting. In that capacity, as well as in his new operations role, we have asked Steve to take a good hard look at our approach to various operational activities and have asked him to work with each of you to identify areas where we can improve the support we bring to the membership.
Steve will be passing his Public Affairs responsibilities to Chris Adams who will begin assisting us with internal and external communications. Chris has been very active as our membership chairman for almost 10 years now. He also serves as our Photo Librarian and hosts weekly NHRHTA Volunteer Nights at his home.
Chris will, in turn, be passing his responsibilities as Membership Chairman to Mr. Richard Pedersen. Many of you know of Mr. Pedersen through his wonderful paintings depicting New Haven Railroad themes. He has been a member of NHRHTA since 1982 and has served in a variety of roles including Reunion modeling contest judge and Color Guide co-author.
Please join us in welcoming these individuals to their new roles. We appreciate all the support you will provide them in helping to improve our organization.
Finally, as some of you may know, Dennis Fennessy will soon be retiring from his position as West End Show Coordinator. While his will be large shoes to fill, we hope one of you will be interested in filling this role. Please let Chris Adams know if you, or someone you know, would like more information about this position.
Thank you all for your efforts on behalf of the NHRHTA!
